The 24th Annual Congress of Gynaecologists #ISAR at Mumbai with Advocate Abha Singh and Actress Swara Bhaskar on Surrogacy – A women’s right to motherhood.
Mumbai, March 2019: Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction (ISAR) organised Annual Congress Summit which was attended by renowned Bureaucrat, Advocate and Social Activist Abha Singh and Veere Di Wedding Actress Swara Bhaskar and many other known celebrities and socialites.
The Panel Discussion was about Leap jump in Assisted Reproduction techniques and how Laws must have all stakeholders on board to pass the Surrogacy Bill.  Abha Singh shares her views on the 2016 Surrogacy Bill which is only passed by Lok Sabha and stuck in Rajya Sabha. According to her, “The 2016 Surrogacy Bill which was passed came into place because there are no proper laws and regulations in place.” As a women empowerment activist, I strongly feel, we have a right to become a mother. We have a right to Surrogacy according to Article 21 of the constitution which is right to life.  For me Motherhood is equally important and the committee recommends that Woman can go ahead with Surrogacy even within one year of marriage.”
